Creative Inkers Occasions Blog Hop

Welcome to the  Creative Inkers Blog hop Occasions Blog Hop! for 2015  whether you started with my post or you arrived here from Paula Reid make sure you continue by clicking on the link in each blog and you will enjoy a fabulous round of 16 projects.

I have made 2 cards using the Love is Kindness stamp set which was one of my first purchases from the Occasions Catalogue. The first card is coloured using Daffodil delight and Old Olive Blendabilities. The flowers and wrapping are very slightly outlined with Crumb cake. I decided to offset the yellow mat just to change it up a bit to make the flowers the focus of the card.

For my second card I coloured the flowers and leaves using Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Blendabilities I wanted the flowers to stand out and be the focus on the card so have used 2 smaller and 2 larger matts of card stock, Although it is hard to see I did stamp, cut and colour a few extra flowers and leaves plus the front piece of the wrapping and adhered those over the top just to make them pop a wee bit.

Stamp: Love is Kindness
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blendibilities: Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Other: Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive, Paper Snips, Stampin Trimmer

I have to say I like the first one best. Those stripes behind are just perfect and I like the way you've offset the piece of yellow behind so its just peeking out. Great job.

I love how you did the offset layering for the yellow mat, it adds interest and allows the flowers to pop! :)

Amazing difference in the same card, i love how the rich razzlebury stands out

Beautiful work, Sally! I can see the flowers do pop out of the cards - the shading you've used around them is really effective that way. With the layers you mention that must make them even more amazing IRL!

These are lovely Sally but my favourite would have to be the top one :-) Offsetting the yellow mat does make the flowers stand out more.

Lovely cards. It is amazing to see how different colours can make the cards look so different.

You have made an awesome job of the colouring on these cards Sally. My favourite is the first one too. something really appealing about the way you have tilted the frame:)

I wasn't going to get this stamp set but you have definitely changed my mind. the first card is my favourite. I think it is the way you placed the mat at the back of the image.

Your colouring is awesome. This is such a cute stamp and great for using Blendabilities to create such different looks. The second card really 'pops' with the background mat you've used - really lovely although my favourite is the yellow one (of course). Thanks for sharing
